Talk about a Grinch.An Atlantic City man is accused of burglarizing a home, stealing more than $20,000 worth of items including Christmas presents and a piggy bank.Rodney Williams was arrested Wednesday, as he was trying to enter another residence that wasn’t his, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of North Virginia Avenue just before 6 p.m. Dec. 10, Fair said.The suspect threw something through the window to get in, and then left with a large bag that included presents, electronics, jewelry, money from a piggy bank and other personal belongings, according to the report.Several electronic devices were recovered after an investigation by the Street Crimes Unit found they had been pawned, Fair said.That also led to the suspect’s identity.Williams, 48, was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He also had a warrant for contempt of court.He was arrested Wednesday, after Detective Fariyd Holmes was told Williams was in the area of Connecticut and Arctic avenues. Holmes and Detective Armani Rex found Williams as he was trying to open a door to a residence that was not his, Fair said.He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.Anyone with information about similar incidents is asked to call police at 609-347-5766.
