The Atlantic City man accused of fatally shooting a 10-year-old at a high school football game appeared briefly in court via video Monday.
Alvin Wyatt, 32, faces a potential life in prison in the shooting.
Wyatt was allegedly aiming for Ibn Abdullah when he fired while in the stands during a Pleasantville High School football playoff game against Camden on Nov. 15, according to the state.
Micah Tennant was watching his cousin on the field when he was mortally wounded. He died 10 days later, not having regained consciousness.
A 15-year-old was wounded in the shooting.
Abdullah was also wounded, and arrested after he was found with a gun following the shooting, according to charges against him.
Evidence in the case includes 166 pages and more than 50 discs, public defender Stephen Funk told the judge.
"We are continuing with our investigation," Funk said.
A trial date has not been set, as court matters have been delayed due to limitations made by the coronavirus.
Wyatt is due back in court Oct. 5.
Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seth Levy told the judge the state could be ready "relatively quickly" to go to trial.
Levy previously said the state would be seeking life without parole.
