Driver sought in Absecon hit-run that injured 73-year-old pedestrian

Absecon police are looking for a driver who struck a 73-year-old pedestrian and fled early Sunday morning.Police were called to the Delilah Road overpass at about 12:24 a.m., and found the Philadelphia man had been struck.The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was walking in the eastbound shoulder when he was hit, according to the report.The vehicle is described as a silver SUV, possibly a Honda Pilot.The driver struck the man, then continued east onto Absecon Boulevard toward Atlantic City, police said.The pedestrian was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus with serious injuries. Traffic at the scene was restricted for about two hours while the crash was being investigated.Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have knowledge of those involved is asked to call Absecon police at 609-641-0667.
