A bomb threat brought police to the South Jersey Federal Credit Union in Pleasantville on Tuesday.
But the area wound up being cleared with no sign of an explosive, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
Egg Harbor Township/Pleasantville police communications received a call at 3:37 p.m., with information about an explosive device in a vehicle at the credit union on West Jersey Avenue, Hartman said.
Patrol units responded and set up a perimeter.
Although no vehicle matching the one described was found, police evacuated staff and customers from the area.
Several vehicles allowed to exit the lot were stopped and occupants evacuated for their safety, Hartman said.
Ocean City Patrolman Josh Clark and his K-9 partner responded and conducted a sweep of the vehicles, and others in the lot and outside the building but found no explosive, Hartman said.
An interior sweep was then conducted, with nothing found there.
All staff and customers were then allowed to leave or return to the building.
FBI agents assisted at the scene along with Tricare EMS.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Pleasantville police at 609-641-6100 or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
