Atlantic County Animal Shelter resumes free rabies clinics

  • News

The Atlantic County Animal Shelter will resume its free rabies vaccination clinics Sunday.
The canine clinic is set for 9 a.m. to noon this Sunday at the location on Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville.
The feline clinic is set for Sunday, July 26, at the same times.
The clinics were on hold due to COVID-19. Health officials note it's important to have animals vaccinated.
There have been three confirmed rabies cases in Atlantic County this year, including two bats within a week.
Clinics are animal-specific, so dogs will not be seen at the cat clinic and cats are not allowed at the dog one.
Owners are advised to arrive promptly at their scheduled appointment time.
Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
They will then be directed to a designated area with markers to ensure and maintain social distancing.
All individuals must wear masks. Those who arrive late may be asked to reschedule.
Owners are encouraged to provide previous rabies vaccination records at the time of appointment.
Appointments may be made online at www.aclink.org/animalshelter.
