Ex-Mainland teacher admits exposing himself while working as O.C. lifeguard

  • Crime-Courts

A former Mainland Regional High School teacher accused of exposing himself while working as an Ocean City lifeguard has pleaded guilty.

Christopher Denn, 48, was accused of touching and exposing his genitals to a co-worker on the Beach Patrol while work on the Surf Road beach July 29.

He was arrested Aug. 9, and charged with criminal sexual contact.

Denn, who resigned from Mainland in early January, pleaded guilty to the fourth-degree crime in exchange for probation.

He also must forfeit any future public employment.

Denn was additionally charged with committing a lewd and offensive act where he knew it was likely to be seen by non-consenting children younger than 13.

That charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Both original charges were fourth-degree, which do not carry the presumption of jail time.

Denn will be sentenced at a later date in Cape May County Superior Court.
