Marmora man gets 180 months in drug-distribution conspiracy

  • News

A Marmora man with alleged mafia ties was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison Thursday.
Joseph Servidio, 60, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including about 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine and thousands of pills containing heroin and/or fentanyl, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.
Servidio — known as Joey Electric — was identified as a member of La Cosa Nostra by law enforcement
Servidio admitted to distributing pills stamped with markings that made them look similar to prescription opioid pills like Oxycodone or Percocet.
Hispartner, 80-year-old Carl Chianese, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in March.
Servideo and Chianese also distributed multiple-ounce quantities of crystal methamphetamine, including selling them multiple times to an FBI undercover agent in exchange for cash payments.
Servidio was responsible for the distribution of more than 200 grams of fentanyl and heroin and approximately 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Salvatore Piccolo, 68, another member of the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra who sold crystal methamphetamine to the FBI undercover agent, was to 150 months in November.
In addition to 180 months in prison, Servidio will have an additional five years of supervised release.
