11-year-old bicyclist injured in Brigantine crash

An 11-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Brigantine on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to West Beach Avenue near Eighth Street South at 1:38 p.m.
Police and fire personnel immediately tended to the juvenile bicyclist, police said.
The juvenile was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus and later transferred to Cooper Medical Center.
The 11-year-old is listed in stable condition, police said.
The investigation found that multiple juveniles failed to stop their bicycles before crossing West Beach Avenue into the path of the striking vehicle. The driver's name has not been released.
The investigation remains active and is being led by Officers Christopher Ludy and Shayne Dugan.
