Pleasantville will have about 3,600 COVID vaccination first-round doses for its residents beginning at the end of this month.
Community members are asked to send their names and phone number to COVIDVAX@pleasantvillefd.net to register.
Eligibility and appointment details will be discussed in a follow-up call.
The first dose will be given March 29, with the second round a month later.
The pop-up site is designed to increase availability and participation in the statewide vaccination for minority residents and workers who may not have access to the larger sites.
Pleasantville Mayor Judy Ward understands that some members of the community are underserved and often denied or do not apply for services due to a lack of identification or medical insurance.
Those individuals will receive a vaccination if they show up, officials said.
Transportation to and from the vaccination site will also be available for seniors.
Ward encouraged all city employees and members of the community who have not been vaccinated to register.
No documents will be required for a vaccination, patients need only to have access to a phone to register and receive updates.
Transportation will be available for all registrants.
The doses are provided in coordination with the Governor's Office and the New Jersey Department of Health.
Those interested are asked to register by March 19. There will not be enough vaccine for walk-ups.
