A Pleasantville man was killed in a shooting Friday night, the prosecutor said Saturday.
Jacque Sheppard Jr., 34, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the area of Baltic and Maryland avenues just after 11 p.m., Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Police were alerted to the area by a ShotSpotter audio gunshot-detection system.
Sheppard was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where he was pronounced dead.
The Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit are investigating.
