Identity of car could help in Atlantic City homicide probe, prosecutor says

  • News

Detectives are looking for help in identifying a car as part of an ongoing investigation into the killing of an Atlantic City man.
Jahmil Greenidge, 28, was fatally shot in the 300 block of North Tennessee Avenue around 8 a.m. May 19.
"This incident occurred in broad daylight in a well-traveled area of the city," Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said Thursday. "We need witnesses to step up and take a stand against the violence in our community. If you saw something, then please say something to assist us with giving this family closure.”
The request came as Tyner's office released photos of a black car seen in surveillance video before the homicide.
It is believed to be a newer model Hyundai Sonata with tinted windows and possibly a white, temporary license plate registration tag, according to a news release.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Prosecutor’s Office at 609-909-7800 or go to the Prosecutor’s Office Web site at https://www.acpo.org/tips.html and provide information by filling out the form anonymously on the Submit a Tip page. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411) beginning the text with ACPD.
