A Middle Township man allegedly had sex with a teenager he convinced to runaway from home and got her to send him naked videos.
Abdul Blackmon, 26, of Whitesboro, is accused of sexual assault and possession of child pornography in connection to his relationship with the 14-year-old girl.
The investigation was started when police were called to Middle Township Elementary School by a guidance counselor who had spoken with the teen’s 8-year-old relative, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
The younger girl told the counsel she saw a Facebook post stating that the teen “was sleeping with ‘Abdul,'” the filing reads.
Both the teen and Blackmon denied a sexual relationship when first questioned in June, according to the affidavit.
But later the detective would be told that “the past two or three times” the girl ran away from home, it had been Blackmon’s idea and “she has always been with him.”
On one of those nights, the two had intercourse twice in Blackmon’s bedroom, according to the affidavit.
Screenshots of Instagram chats between Blackmon and the girl “indicated there was a sexual relationship between them,” the affidavit reads.
Later, someone — whose name is redacted in the affidavit — found the entire Instagram chat. In it, Blackmon and the girl “spoke to each other about having sexual intercourse at multiple locations.”
The chat included video of a man’s genitals, the affidavit claims.
Video of the girl naked, alone and engaged in a sexual act was found on Blackmon’s phone at the time of his arrest, the affidavit states. It was allegedly made at his request.
Blackmon, whose last name is sometimes listed as Blackman, was arrested Wednesday and is in the Cape May County Jail on charges of sexual assault, manufacturing child pornography, possession of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child.
He has a criminal history that includes a 2014 robbery that got him 364 days in the county jail, and a 2016 burglary that included a five-year sentence.
Blackmon also has pending charges from earlier this year that include simple assault and credit card theft, court records show.
