An Atlantic County inmate accused in the brutal attack of another inmate is now accused of beating a teenage girl unconscious.
Shakur Aabid, 28, was ordered held this week in the assault of an underage girl inside an Atlantic City business earlier this year.
He was first arrested April 7 on charges of robbery and weapons offenses.
But further investigation has now led to charges in the March 28 attack on the girl whose name was not released due to her age.
The incident began with a verbal altercation between the teen and Aabid, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
“What are you doing here, b—-?” Aabid asked the girl as she walked into the Sun Spa at 1534 Atlantic Ave.
“F— you, what you gonna do?” the girl replied, according to the complaint.
The teen boy who was with the girl then told police he got between the girl and the man he knew as “Breezy” or “Oscar.”
He told Aabid that “she’s good, she’s family.”
But the verbal back and forth continued, with Aabid punching the girl, who immediately dropped to the floor.
Once on the ground, Aabid kicked he girl four times before leaving the store, according to the witness.
The suspect is shown on surveillance video running from the store and knocking over a trash can as he flees, the affidavit states.
He is described as a black male with short dreadlocks and a tattoo on his forehead.
Several males are seen dragging the apparently unconscious victim out of the store and into the car she came in.
She had to intubated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus, and had facial fractures. She was admitted in critical condition, the affidavit states.
The girl did regain consciousness, and identified her attackers, as did the witness.
The beating was similar to the one Aabid allegedly gave Robinson inside a holding cell in September.
Video captured the attack on Robinson, 42, which included Aabid punching and kicking the victim even after he falls to the ground and ends up under a bench.
“Aabid pulls Robinson out from underneath the bench, repositions him, and continues to stomp his head and face with his right foot as Robinson lays unconscious,” the affidavit reads.
Robinson is still recovering from the attack. He is able to move his hands and turn his head a little, a family member told BreakingAC.
Aabid, who appeared before the judge via video, showed no reaction as his attorney argued against detention, which was denied.
His face tattoo was visible, as was a comb in his hair.
