A teenage girl suffered a slash wound to her cheek during a fight involving a knife last week at Pleasantville Middle School.
Officers were called to the school at about 2:48 p.m. Thursday, Capt. Stacey Schlachter said.
The girls had been separated by school staff before police arrived, and the knife was turned over, according to the report.
One of the 13-year-old girls had a superficial laceration to her left cheek, Schlachter said.
The other girl was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. She was placed on electronic monitoring pending juvenile court.
The investigation is ongoing.
