An Egg Harbor Township man was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly broke into the same gas station convenience store for the second time in less than 24 hours.
Police were first called to the Sunoco gas station at the Airport Circle at 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Lt. Larry Graham said.
A large exterior window to the convenience store was found broke, according to the report.
Police went inside the store to find several boxes of cigarettes, folding pocket knives, cash and lottery tickets had been taken, Graham said.
A description of the suspect was determined through video surveillance was reviewed by Officers Chris Leary and Nate Lahr, and Detective Robert Harte.
Just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning police received a report of a loud banging coming from the same location. A sheet of plywood was laying on the ground with a person possibly inside.
Officers responded to the scene and set up a perimeter around the building.
Seamus Manley, 25, was found inside the store trying to take items, Graham said.
He as taken into custody without incident by Officer Anthony Venuto and Sgt. Brett Fair.
He had 13 lottery tickets worth about $390.
Manley was taken to the police department by where he was interviewed by Fair and Officer Chris Wagner. He confessed to committing the burglaries and was charged with burglary and theft, Graham said.
He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Additional charges are pending.
Manley also has a pending case involving weapons and terroristic threats out of Ventnor from September 2021, court records show.
