An Egg Harbor Township police officer and a 17-year-old driver were injured in a crash Sunday evening.
Officer Robert Platanella was traveling east on Delaware Avenue when the teen driver traveling north on Ridge Avenue disregarded the stop sign into the police car's path, police said.
Traffic was delayed for about 45 minutes while the crash was investigated and the scene cleared.
Platanella was taken to the hospital for treatement. The teen's family took him to the hospital.
The teen was issued to traffic summonses related to the crash, according to the report.
The crash is being investigated by Officers Nathan Lahr and Patrick Daly.
