Galloway motorcyclist seriously injured in Absecon crash

A Galloway Township man was seriously injured in a crash with an SUV in Absecon on Thursday morning.

Motorcyclist Douglas Steel and driver Jarah Moskovitz collided at the intersection of the White Horse Pike and Shore Road, police said.

The circumstances are under investigation.

Steel, 65, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Moskovitz, 34, of Atlantic City, was not injured.

The area was closed for about two hours while the scene was cleared and investigation was conducted.

, August 3, 2023, a serious motor vehicle crash occurred just before 8:00 AM, involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Absecon. The collision resulted in significant injuries to the operator of the motorcycle and prompted the temporary closure of the roadway for approximately 2 hours while authorities conducted their investigation.

The motorcycle and the SUV collided at the intersection of US Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and Shore Road. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. The operator of the motorcycle, Douglas Steel, 65, of Galloway was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The operator of the SUV, Jarah Moskovitz, 34, of Atlantic City was uninjured.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation by our agency’s Traffic Unit to determine the cause and sequence of events.
