Atlantic City man gets four years for crimes in A.C., EHT

An Atlantic City man who led Egg Harbor Township police on a chase that reached speeds of more than 100 mph has been sentenced to four years in prison on three cases.

Richard Guante, 21, pleaded guilty to robbery, eluding and hindering charges stemming from three cases in two towns, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Guante first fled an Egg Harbor Township traffic stop Dec. 13, 2020.

Then in February 2021, he gave Atlantic City police a fake name during an unrelated investigation, according to the office.

A month later, he ripped a woman's purse off her shoulder while she was on her porch in Atlantic City. he fled in a sport utility vehicle.

He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.
