A Lower Township man is jailed on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
Jason Brown, 42, of the township's Villas section, had an account with more than 1,000 videos/images of child sexual abuse, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Lower Township Police Chief Kevin Lewis said.
A National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTip sparked the investigation into a suspect downloading, possessing and distributing these videos and images.
A warrant was executed at his Cloverdale Avenue home, where two computers, a camera, various prescription legend drugs and a cell phone were seized, according to the report.
Brown was arrested Friday.
He is charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and possession of child
pornography, along with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Brown is in the Cape May County jail pending a detention hearing.
