An Egg Harbor Township motorcyclist was killed when he crashed into a truck carrying a horse trailer Saturday night.
A 2002 Chevy Silverado pulling a horse trailer was heading west on Mill Road just after 11 p.m., driven by Rodolfo Solanomiranda, 36, also of the township, Lt. Ken Marchelle said.
Solanomiranda slowed to turn into a driveway near Tremont Avenue, when motorcyclist Anthony Canizzaro came up from behind at a high rate of speed, according to the report. He struck the rear of the trailer.
Canizzaro, 41, was declared dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported, including to the horses on the trailer.
Bargaintown Fire Department and Egg Harbor Township EMS responded to the scene to assist.
Traffic was detoured for about four hours while the crash was being cleared.
The crash is being investigated Officers Patrick Daly, Robert Moran and Kevin Brady.
