  • News

An Atlantic City fugitive wanted in the killing of a Mays Landing man last year is now jailed in Virginia.

Rasabohyt Bethea, 39, was one of three men are charged in the fatal shooting of Tyrone Ford, 21.

Ford was found unconscious at about 1:45 a.m. Oct. 19, by police responding to a ShotSpotter audio-gunshot notification in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue.

He was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus, where he was pronounced dead.

Rahmir Bethea, 33, was arrested within a week of the killing, after investigators found a gray Ford Escape matching the description of the vehicle seen leaving the scene in the rear lot of a home in the 200 block of North Delaware Avenue, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.

Video in the area shows Bethea and two other men leaving the home and getting into the Escape. One of them is holding a rifle, the affidavit states, although it does not indicate whether it’s Bethea.

One of them was allegedly David Santiago, 23, of Westville, Ohio, was arrested in Newark by members of the U.S. Marshals Service in December.

The other man was Rasabohyt Bethea, according to the charges.

He was arrested Hampton, Va., on May 2, charged as a fugitive from justice.

He has not waived his extradition, and remains in Virginia, according to jail records. The jail does not release mugshots.
