Three people were arrested in Atlantic City after police searched their car that was blocking traffic.
Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos saw the car illegally parked in the area of California and Fairmount avenues, Capt. Kevin Fair said.
Vincente Scalzo opened his door, and the officer saw drug paraphernalia on the floor, according to the report.
Scalzo, 36, of New Port Richey, Fla., was removed from the car and taken into custody.
Passengers Aubrey Castillo and Lamar Dew were also taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle led to two loaded handguns and small amounts of heroin and methamphetamine, Fair said.
Dew, 36, of Atlantic City, had a warrant, Fair said. He did not detail what it was, but Dew has several outstanding drug and receiving stolen property charges from last year out of Lakewood, Ocean County, court records show.
Castillo, 25, of Forked River, Ocean County, also has a pending heroin charge out of Atlantic City from Jan. 30, records show. She was released on a summons in that case.
All three are now in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on drug and weapons offenses.
Scalzo is additionally charged with certain person not to possess a weapon due to a prior criminal conviction.
