A dozen inmates were charged in a brutal beating inside the Atlantic County Justice Facility this summer.
One has since been cleared. More could be charged as the investigation continues.
The unnamed victim was left unconscious and bleeding profusely with head trauma, BreakingAC has learned.
The attack happened June 28, in G-right Pod, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
Video from closed-circuit television cameras in the jail were used to investigate the attack.
The men are seen hitting and kicking the victim while he is on the ground, the affidavit states. The victim's name was redacted. He was identified only as D.H. in court.
Trevin Allen, Majid Harris, Develin Grant and Hamid Webb are seen "stomping the victim's head several times, while he appears to lay unconscious on the ground," the affidavit states.
Gerone Foster and Yahsin Cheeks are shown "striking the victim multiple times with a chair."
The men refused to come down for their first appearance for central judicial processing last week, a corrections officer told the judge. Several have detention hearings plan, although they all are being held on other charges.
BreakingAC previously reported on charges involving most of the men.
At least two are in the jail on murder charges, with another charged in a drug-induced death. Several have pending gun charges.
Laquan Rex, 31, of Egg Harbor City, was the only person who was not jailed at the time of the charges. He was ultimately arrested, but has since been cleared.
The state dropped the charges against him after reviewing the video and finding he was not involved, Assistant Prosecutor Deirdre Laws told a judge after a planned detention hearing was canceled.
It is the second time Rex was released following charges being dropped by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
He had faced charges related to the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old in Atlantic City. But Rex's co-defendant later pleaded guilty, and claimed his two co-defendants did not know his plan to shoot the victim, BreakingAC learned during the reporting of the new charges.
The remaining 11 men face second-degree charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy. No motive was given for the attack.
Others involved remain unidentified, according to the affidavit.
