Atlantic City police recovered two loaded handguns in separate incidents within less than 2½ hours.
A teenager was arrested after he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun after claiming she stole his bicycle.
Police were called to the first block of South Iowa Avenue for a dispute involving a handgun at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Capt. Kevin Fair said.
Officer Aidan Richardson got information on the dispute.
A short time later, the 17-year-old returned to the scene and was detained, Fair said. He had a loaded handgun, 28 bags of heroin and a small amount of cocaine, according to the report.
There was no evidence of a stolen bicycle, Fair said.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a large-capacity magazine, terroristic threats and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
After an appearance in Family Court, he was remanded to a juvenile detention center.
Police recovered a second loaded gun during a car stop just after midnight Thursday.
Isaiah Cooper, 34, of Pleasantville, was stopped in the area of South Carolina and Drexel avenues by Officer Moustafa Maarouf, according to the report.
Moustafa saw drug-distribution paraphernalia while speaking with the driver, and called for a K-9, Fair said.
Officer Robert Reynolds and his partner, Carlo, arrived, with Carlo indicating there were drugs in the car.
A loaded handgun was found along with additional paraphernalia containing narcotic residue, Fair said.
Cooper, whose name is also listed as Isiah, also had an outstanding warrant.
He was just released from prison in September, after serving time on drug and gun charges, records show.
Cooper is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
