Detectives are investigating a shooting that wounded two teens at an Atlantic City party Friday night.
Several streets were blocked off around the scene at Boston and Atlantic avenues after police responded before 11 p.m.
At least one of the teen's was critically injured, BreakingAC has confirmed.
His status was not clear, but the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit was called, an official confirmed. They only respond to deaths or cases in which a death is likely.
The teens were at a party at an Airbnb, the mayor told BreakingAC.
He could not say where the teens were from, but sources confirm they were local.
"It's disturbing that we're dealing with this issue involving teenagers," Mayor Marty Small said. "It's unfortunate, and we're just going to continue to pour resources into youth to keep them busy and off the streets.
"(We will) continue to work closely with out anti-violence team, who's working tremendously hard," he added.
A resident captured some of the aftermath on video.
When the anti-violence team was announced, the mayor acknowledged it would not be able to stop all violence.
"It's tough," he reiterated Saturday. "You can't get into the minds of children or adults when they decide to pull a trigger. We're just going to keep working hard every single day to prevent incidents like this."
The year is off to a violence start in the city. Two men were killed in separate stabbings in less than two hours New Year's Day morning. A man is jailed in one of the deaths.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Major Crimes at 603-909-7666. Information can also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
