An Egg Harbor Township man died after he had a medical issue and crashed his truck Saturday, police said.
Ronald Hurless, 70, was heading west on Zion Road when his pickup crossed over the eastbound lane and struck a tree in front of a residence in the 300 block, Lt. Robert Gray said.
It is believed Hurless suffered a medical emergency, according to the report.
Members of the Scullville Volunteer Fire Company extricated Him from the truck, which sustained heavy front end damage.
He was treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics, then taken to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, where he was later pronounced dead.
Zion Road was shut down for about 2½ hours.
The crash is being investigated by Sgt. Cherie Burgan, and Patrolmen Kevin Devlin and Ptlm. Joseph Griffiths of the EHT Police Traffic Safety Unit.
