On June 1, 2017, the Special Investigations Section and Tactical Operations Unit conducted a surveillance operation in response to complaints from the community and business owners regarding narcotic distribution.
The operation was a part of our continued effort to combat the distribution of narcotics along Atlantic Avenue. Ten people were arrested for either possessing or distributing heroin. The surveillance efforts were led by Officer Ermindo Marsini.
ARRESTED: Deborah Iwanski, 51, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance and distribution of CDS.
ARRESTED: Jose Hernandez, 43, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.
ARRESTED: Maria Enriquez, 49, of Atlantic City
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.
ARRESTED: Mary McKinney, 56, of Linwood
CHARGES: Possession of CDS and contempt warrants.
ARRESTED: David Harrison, 57, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS and distribution of CDS.
ARRESTED: Austin Demarco, 23, of Toms River
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.
ARRESTED: Matthew Monette, if Mays Landing
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.
ARRESTED: Terrell Brooks, 24, Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, distribution of CDS, and possession with intent within 500 feet of a public zone.
ARRESTED: Dayon Gilbert, 34, of Vineland
CHARGES: Two counts of possession of CDS and distribution of CDS.
ARRESTED: Purcell Booth, 63, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS and distribution of CDS.
During the operation, Sergeant Richard Andrews observed a narcotic transaction take place in the 1000 block of Arctic Avenue. A male and female were arrested after oxycodone was located.
ARRESTED: Reinaldo Izquierdo, 66, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, distribution of CDS, and possession with intent within 500 feet of a public zone.
ARRESTED: Jolene Haman, 42 of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.
Each arrested individual was placed on a summons with a future court date.
