An Atlantic City man was arrested early Monday morning in the Mother's Day killing of a local rapper.
Keith Cundiff Jr., known as K-Miz, was found shot multiple times in the 800 block of North Maryland Avenue just before 3 p.m. Sunday. Cundiff, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation through the night led to the arrest of Lorin Wright, 31, inside a home on the 1000 block of Brights Court, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Wright is charged with murder and weapons offenses and is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing. He is scheduled to have his first appearance at 2 p.m. Monday.
Cundiff was the father of three children, friends said. Having been away from music for some time, he was getting ready to put out a new mix tape on June 21.
The “Purple Tape” will still come out, said Carlos Matos, who goes by DJ Stickz.
“As far as his music, I’m (going to) keep it alive,” he said. “I have enough music of him that I can drop about seven mix tapes.”
Cundiff is the third homicide in two weeks in the city's Back Maryland section, Tyner noted. This was the first arrest.
David Blackwell Jr., 31, was
killed outside the Barclay Arms Apartments on May 5.
Six days later, Anthony Jordan, 28, was
found dead inside a car on the 1000 block of Brigantine Boulevard, near his home.
