An Egg Harbor Township man was found guilty of killing of an Atlantic City father in 2018.
Troy Demby, 37, was convicted Thursday of murder and drug offenses.
“This is yet another tragic example of the negative impact that drugs have on our families and in our community," Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. "There are no winners with illegal drug trade."
Raphael Terrigino, 30, was found dead around 7:45 a.m. Feb. 2, 2018, inside his car outside 12 Stenton Ave. in Pleasantville. An autopsy determined cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
He left behind a 2-year-old daughter who loved ones said he adored.
When Demby was arrested five days later, investigators seized about 8 ounces of cocaine.
"The defendant in this matter will no longer have an opportunity to peddle poison in Atlantic County, and will certainly spend the next three decades haunted by taking the life of Mr. Terrigino,” Tyner said.
Demby served 11½ years in prison on a previous conviction that included three robberies in Atlantic County and an obstruction charge out of Cumberland County, state Department of Corrections records show.
He was released Sept. 29, 2013.
Demby remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. His sentencing is scheduled for May 1.
