Man wounded in second of two EHT shootings Saturday

  • News

An Egg Harbor Township man was wounded in a shooting in Egg Harbor Township's Zion Park section Saturday night.
Police were called to the area of Dorset and Spray avenues at about 8:30 p.m., Capt. Fred Spano said.
There, they found a 19-year-old man had been wounded in a shooting.
The shooting is not associated with that neighborhood, and the victim does not live there, Spano said.
"We do not believe anyone is at risk," Spano tole BreakingAC.
The incident happened about 90 minutes after a fatal shooting in the township about seven miles away.
The earlier shooting is being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, whose Major Crimes Unit takes lead in homicide cases in the county.
The office had not released any information in that case as of Monday afternoon, about 40 hours after the shooting had happened.
Spano referred comment to the Prosecutor's Office on what he called the "shooting/homicide."
He could not comment on whether the two shootings were related.
The Zion Park victim, whose name is not being released, is in stable condition. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
Anyone with information about the Zion Park shooting is asked to call Detective Bob Harte at 609-926-4051 or information can be reported anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
