Seven Cumberland sex offenders sought for failing to register

Seven Cumberland County sex offenders are wanted for failing to register under Megan’s Law.

Desmond Grier, Jeffrey McCracken, Anthony Lowers, Richard Hyson, Antoine Rowley, Anibal Hernandez Jr. and Neil Freeman all have active warrants for not properly reporting where they are living, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.

Most have had previous similar violations in the past, records show.

Their names were released with the towns where they were last known to live.

Grier, 38, of Bridgeton, got one year probation in 2002 for failing to register, and has drug convictions from 2008 and 2015, when he was sentenced to eight years, records show. It was unclear how much of that time he served.

McCracken, 55, of Vineland, was convicted in 1995 of the sexual assault of a child who was younger than 13. He was sentenced to 18 months on a violation in 2000.

Lowers, 46, was convicted in a 1994 aggravated sexual assault and was sentenced to seven years. He got a year probation for a 2018 failure to register.

Hyson, 58, of Vineland, got nine years in a 1998 kidnapping. He had a failure to register charge in 2013 and an eluding charge in 2018.

Rowley, 40, of Vineland, previously served about a year in state prison for failure to register and has weapons offenses as well

Hernandez, 37, of Vineland, was convicted of sexual assault with force in a 2002 case. He is additionally wanted for absconding from parole.

Freeman, 43, of Millville, has an eluding with force conviction from 2010, and was charged with failure to register in 2019.

“It is important that we locate these individuals and make sure that they are properly registered at the address which they are residing," Webb-McRae said.
