A Pleasantville man pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun this week.
Jonathan Valentine, 19, faces a three-year sentence with one year of parole ineligibility under the plea agreement, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced.
He was arrested during a car stop last June, in the area of Doughty Road and West Bayview Avenue.
The muzzle of a gun was seen while he was talking to Pleasantville police, according to the report.
A search led to the recovery of a 9mm Luger Polymer 80 semiautomatic handgun with no serial number, commonly referred to as a "ghost gun" because of the difficulty in tracking it. It was loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition inside a 17-round magazine.
Police also found 2¼ ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, empty Ziploc baggies and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Under the agreement, Valentine must forfeit the gun, ammunition and cash.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 28.
