Four men were arrested with drugs and one with a gun in a surveillance operation targeting areas of complaint in Atlantic City on Friday.
Khalil and Kory Watts, both of Atlantic City, were arrested after allegedly running from officers who saw them selling drugs, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Detective Christopher Dodson had received detailed information about the drug sales and that Khalil Watts was armed, according to the report.
Dodson, along with Detectives Eric Evans, Alberto Valles and Kevin Perez were watching the area under the supervision of Sgt. Garry Stowe.
After observing the Watts' for a period of time, the officers got out of their vehicles and the Wattses fled, according to the report.
Khalil Watts, 25, was found in possession of a satchel containing a loaded handgun, Fair said.
Watts previously pleaded guilty in a third-degree possession of an air gun, court records show. He received no custodial time, after serving 33 days in the county jail.
He also had an active warrant, and was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Kory Watts, 24, discarded a bag while running, Fair said. It contained more than 15 grams of cocaine.
He was also in possession of paraphernalia used to distribute narcotics, according to the report.
He was released on a summons.
Later in the evening, detectives saw Jamir Blunt involved in a drug deal in the 500 block of Hobart Avenue, Fair said.
Blunt, 20, of Mays Landing, was arrested and found with 70 bags of heroin and two grams of cocaine, according to the charges.
He was released on a summons.
The detectives then conducted a motor vehicle stop at Indiana and Atlantic avenues.
Julio Sanchez III, 21, of Galloway Township, could not provide his driver's license or proof of insurance, Fair said.
K-9 Officer Jesse Oliver-Logan's partner Gee made a positive indication of drugs in the vehicle, according to the report.
Detectives allegedly found four grams of cocaine.
He was charged and released on a summons.
