Fire burns Pleasantville house


Fire burned a house in Pleasantville early Tuesday morning.

The Pleasantville Fire Department responded to East Thompson Avenue at about 3:47 a.m. for a house engulfed in flames, acting Fire Chief Keven Vanegas said.

Firefighters arrived to smoke and flames showing from the front of the single-story residence.

Multiple hose lines were deployed to knock down the fire, which was under control by 4:35 a.m., Vanegas said.

The home was recently purchased and the new owners were not fully moved in, Vanegas told BreakingAC.

The cause is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Fire companies from Absecon, Northfield, Linwood, the South Jersey Transportation Authority and Egg Harbor Township's West Atlantic City Company assisted.
