  • Crime-Courts

Two Atlantic City residents were arrested after police interrupted an alleged drug sale Thursday.

Calvin Cross and Angelina Cannon were in an alleyway in the first block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when Offices Julian Monsalve and William Harned drove by at about 5:42 p.m., Capt. Kevin Fair said.

When Cross and Cannon saw the marked car, they started to walk away, according to the report.

The officers stopped them and placed them in custody.

Cross, 46, was found with about 50 grams of packaged heroin, more than 45 grams of cocaine and numerous Xanax pills, according to the charges.

He was charged with three counts each of possession and possession with intent to distribute, along with a count of possession within 500 feet of a public zone.

Cross is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Cannon, 41, was charged loitering to possess drugs and released on a summons.
