Atlantic City's summer season of entertainment starts now

  • Things To Do

I checked the weather. It’s calling for it to be sunny in the 70s all weekend.

Even though summer doesn’t officially begin until the solstice on June 20 in the Northern Hemisphere, as far as resort towns are concerned, anything after Memorial Day is in-season.

So, pack your sunscreen and get down here!

Float away with the Arc of Atlantic County

A great, annual charity event is happening Thursday night at the Golden Nugget.

It’s time for the big Arc of Atlantic County Fundraiser – Celebrate! An Evening with the Arc Of Atlantic County.

You may remember BreakingAC featuring this event during a tax time article. You’ll need to speak to your own tax professional. However, as a reminder, our expert states that a portion of the ticket price of these types of events can become a valuable tax deduction.

The Arc of Atlantic County invites you to "seas the day and hit the deck at Frank S. Farley Marina. (I think it’s worth the ticket price for those puns alone.)

Tickets are $75, and are still available at the door.

Enjoy dancing, live entertainment, food, specialty cocktails, raffles and a silent auction.

Plus, you’ll interact with employees and clients of the Arc.

I’ve been to this event many times and it’s fun.

Dress casually and wear your dancing shoes. Skip your local happy hour tonight and put your entertainment dollars to a good cause.

Run and then refresh

Now if you ask me, there are way easier ways to enjoy the beach.

But for those of you who are runners, you can take part in a five mile run early Saturday morning in the Bungalow Beach Boardwalk 5-Miler Run.

The race, part of the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series, kicks off on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. But the final 400 feet is a dash to the finish line on the sand!

Racers and their supporters can then party at Bungalow Beach Bar with music, food and drink. Lace up and get all the information on their website.

A double dose of Snoop

The big name in town is the legendary Snoop Dogg.

If you have another commitment, I suggest you “drop it like it’s hot” because you don’t want to miss this.

Plus, if after the concert you still want another “gin and juice,” you can head into the grand opening party of The Balcony at Hard Rock.

To mark the occasion, there will be a set by DJ Snoopadelic himself. That’s right. The venues at the Hard Rock are so cool, Snoop is doing a double shift!

I mentioned this new club last week. It has great views, a bar right on the outdoor balcony, video screens and quality service. It’s open every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m.

But DJ Snoopadelic is only there the first of June.

Discount alert: Get into The Balcony show for half price with your tickets to the Snoop Dogg show at Hard Rock Live.

Tickets to Snoop Dogg are still available, so click the link or head to The Balcony box office.

Show your ticket from the Hard Rock Live for $50 discount at The Balcony.

The only thing that would make this night even more exciting is if Martha Stewart shows up.

Much more to come

It’s time to get out the calendar. Because there are a lot of events to cram into a dozen or so weekends.

This weekend alone you can go to all the events mentioned above. Or you can get a little risqué at Burlesque at Borgata or Primal Men at Tropicana. You can rock at a multi-band night of great music at Anchor Rock Club or head to Smithville for a Rockabilly Uprising.

Looking into June, Jay Leno is at Caesars and Patti LaBelle is at Hard Rock on Friday the 7. And the North to Shore festival is in town June 17 to 23. Get your tickets now!

Speaking of calendars, don’t forget to check out ours daily for a comprehensive list.

Be sure to submit your events too! We want to hear about them.

Let’s all have a great summer.
