A Mays Landing man pleaded guilty in three separate cases out of Atlantic City on Friday.
Tariq Smith, 22, was first charged Aug. 13, 2023, after Atlantic City police saw multiple people involved in drug deals in the area of Tennessee and Central avenues, according to the charges.
Smith had recently been paroled from prison on a gun charge at that time. He was not jailed in the drug case, and released with eight others on summonses.
On Nov. 28, 2023, two victims said they saw individuals enter their vehicle and take items. Smith has admitted to being one of those people.
Abdulahad Welch also pleaded guilty to being part of that crime Friday.
The next day, Smith came in contact with police and was found to have cocaine on him. He was jailed at that time.
He was released this week under the plea agreement.
Smith faces a four-year term when he is sentenced, which is scheduled for Feb. 18.
