Galloway man admits to gun possession, trespassing

  • News

A Galloway Township man admitted to gun possession and trespassing in a guns and drugs case from last year.

Jalen Torres, now 20, was the subject of a five-week investigation into drugs and guns that resulted in the search of two homes and arrest of Torres and another man July 21.

Information released during his first appearance in court last year indicated Torres left the scene and was found in a wooded area nearby, which apparently relates to the trespassing charge.

Two guns were connected to Torres, including a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson that was found concealed in his sock.

He faces a five-year sentence under the terms of the plea agreement. Torres must serve at least 3½ years under the Graves Act, which covers gun crimes.

His sentencing is set for June 5.
