Pedestrian killed in EHT hit-and-run on Black Horse Pike

Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run Thursday night.

Egg Harbor Township police responded to the area of the Black Horse Pike near Bayport Drive in the township's West Atlantic City section at about 6:40 p.m., Lt. Larry Graham said.

An unknown vehicle was traveling west, when it struck the unidentified victim and fled, according to the report.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no description of the vehicle other than to indicate it would have front-end damage.

Sgt. Ed Stearns and Officers Tom Rizzotte and Kevin Brady are investigating.

Traffic was detoured for about 3½ hours.
