A man and woman were arrested inside a room at an Atlantic City motel for allegedly promoting the prostitution of a minor, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office confirmed.
Marcus Tukes, 47, of Bridgeton, and Courtney Glose, 31, of Brigantine, were arrested at the Knight's Inn following an investigation by the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force that focused on the exploitation of a child younger than 18, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.
FBI agents were seen making the arrests early Friday morning, and also taking photos of a room, according to a witness.
The two were charged with promoting the prostitution of a child, which is a first-degree crime. They additionally were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and conspiracy, both third-degree crimes.Tukes just completed a prison sentence in August for promoting prostitution and drug charges, according to the Department of Corrections records. Glose was paroled last December after serving 14 months on drug charges.
Glose was allegedly Tukes' "bottom girl," or the top prostitute working for him, according to an investigator.
The pair is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $250,000 each full cash bail with no 10 percent option.
The task force's primary goals are identifying and prosecuting those involved in the sex trafficking of minors and recovering the victims to ensure their safety and provide them access to the services they need.
