An Atlantic City man wanted in two shootings within two weeks including one in which he was wounded was arrested Tuesday afternoon.
Jamil Miller, 28, was hospitalized July 14, after he was shot in the 600 block of North Virginia Avenue at about 11 p.m. Two blocks away, his 37-year-old girlfriend had been fatally gunned down 11 days earlier.
Miller was treated for his wound and released without being charged.
Then, on July 27, he allegedly was involved in a shooting that wounded 18-year-old Tarquay Dunston in the lower body in the 500 block of Absecon Boulevard.
Miller also was tied to that shooting, which included the arrest of Marcelino Martinez.
The investigation led by Violent Crimes Unit Sgt. Joseph Iacovone and Detective Joseph Procopio also led to weapons charges in the earlier shooting that wounded Miller.
On Tuesday, Detective Darrin Lorady saw Miller getting into the passenger seat of a car at about 2:20 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Officers responded and stopped the vehicle at Connecticut Avenue and Grammercy Place, taking Miller into custody without incident.
He is now in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $250,000 bail.
