Manco & Manco owners sentenced in 2015 tax evasion case

A Manco & Manco's pizza owner was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison Friday. After six postponements, the couple that owns the famous Ocean City pizza chain were sentenced in Camden District Court. Charles Bangle, 57, of Somers Point, was sentenced to 15 months for evading taxes and failing to report more than a quarter-million dollars in taxable income. His wife and business partner, Mary Bangle, received three years' probation. She admitted to lying to IRS agents and made false statements during the investigation. Charles Bangle all must pay restitution and was fined $5,000. He was given until Sept. 10 to report to the federal Bureau of Prisons to begin his sentence. Once his time is served he will have three years of supervised release.
