After a drug raid, an alligator and two suspicious fires, the Bayview Inn is still standing on Albany Avenue.
But it may not be for long, Atlantic City’s director of Licensing and Inspection tells BreakingAC.
“They have until Nov. 5 to come in to either properly secure the property, renovate it or obtain a certificate of occupancy,” Director Dale Finch said.
If not, the demolition process will begin Nov. 12.
The motel just off Exit 2 of the Atlantic City Expressway first garnered attention when police raided it Aug. 14, displacing 33 men, women and children and charging one man.
An alligator was found swimming amid trash in the pool.

A fire a few days later was deemed suspicious, and the owner was ordered to fix the place up or it would be torn down.
The city has now had three meetings with owner Randhir Maisuria and his attorney, Finch said. But nothing has improved so far.
On Oct. 4, there was another fire. It was in a second-floor unit that had not been boarded up, Fire Chief Scott Evans said. It is also being investigated as suspicious.
Maisuria was supposed to “get permits to board up the building properly, but failed to do that,” Finch said.
“It’s a very dismal building,” he said. “Demolition appears to be the big answer right now to make them do something.”
The one thing the owner has done is get court dates postponed, Finch said.
When Maisuria goes to court, it will be clear what kind of fines may be imposed.
Right now, the city will wait.
“We have to give them time, per law,” Finch said.
Maisuria has not returned multiple calls or emails seeking comment.
