Two Cumberland County men have been arrested after State Police seized guns and more than $130,000 of cocaine, heroin and marijuana.
Felix Davila, 36, of Bridgeton, tried to flush suspected drugs down the toilet as troopers searched a Vineland home last week, police said.
A six-month investigation led to warranted searches at the home on Woodcrest Drive along with a business on Delsea Drive, also in Vineland.
While searching the business, state troopers arrested Kenneth Ortiz, 23, of Vineland, on various weapons and drug offenses.
Police seized three handguns, $71,100 worth of cocaine, $40,000 worth of heroin and more than $19,000 worth of marijuana. They also found more than $10,000 in cash, along with drug-packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.
Davila and Ortiz were charged with three counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession within 500 feet of a park, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon during a drug offense and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, along with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Davila was additionally charged with tampering with evidence for trying to flush the drugs.
Davila and Ortiz were lodged at the Cumberland County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
Manuel Maymi, 38, and Jose Rodriguez, 39, both of Vineland, were also arrested on unrelated warrants. They were released pending a court date.
