  • News

Two men were arrested on drug charges after a car stop in Atlantic City on Tuesday. Sgt. Richard Andrews stopped Jameel Stephens who was wanted on a warrant. Stephens, who was driving in the 300 block of Atlantic Avenue, did not have a valid driver's license, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Stephens was placed in custody without incident, according to the report. Stephens allegedly had 3½ grams of cocaine, known on the street as an 8 ball. His passenger, Anthony Williams, was also arrested after detectives found 84 grams of cocaine inside the vehicle, Fair said. Stephens, 34, of Atlantic City, and Williams, 38, of Pleasantville, were charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute, possession within a school zone and possession within 500 feet of a public zone. Stephens also was issued to motor vehicle summonses. Both men were released on summonses.
