Two drivers stopped in Atlantic City didn’t have valid licenses, but did have drugs, police said.
Officers Valmir Loga and Jeffrey Hannon stopped a car at 11:14 a.m Thursday at Mississippi and Pacific avenues.
The driver, Qashira Cooper, did not have a driver’s license and could not provide the necessary documents for the vehicle, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Cooper, 20, was arrested after she was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. She was also found in possession of 183 bags of heroin, according to the report.
An hour later, Officers Alberto Valles and Christopher Dodson stopped a vehicle at Michigan and McKinley avenues.
The driver, Quadir Stanley, had a suspended driver’s license and a warrant for his arrest.
Police found 29 grams of cocaine, marijuana, OxyContin, paraphernalia used to package drugs, and a high-capacity handgun magazine loaded with hollow-point ammunition in the vehicle, according to the report.
Cooper is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute CDS, contempt of court, and several motor vehicle summons.
Stanley, 30, of Atlantic City, is charged with two counts of possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of prescription legend drugs, possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high capacity magazine, contempt of court, and motor vehicle summons.
Both were released on summonses.
