A vigil will be held Tuesday outside the barbershop of an iconic community leader.
William "Sonny" Lea died last week after a car crash.
People will gather at 5 p.m. outside the shop at 40 N. Kentucky Ave. to honor him.
Meanwhile, family also is asking for help to lay to rest the man known for helping others.
From paying for school to giving people jobs to visiting those in prison, Lea was there.
But, according to his family, Lea didn't worry about himself, including having no life insurance.
Now, they're asking for help in sending off the icon, who
died earlier this week.
"Because Sonny gave so unselfishly to the community, we’re respectfully asking the community to now give back to Sonny," wrote his grandson Elijah Langford.
Funeral services are set for Lea on Friday, Oct. 26 at Boardwalk Hall.
Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. with the service starting at 11 a.m. in the Adrian Phillips Theater.
