An Atlantic City man and woman were arrested after police found a loaded gun and marijuana during a car stop.Detectives Alberto Valles and Eric Evans stopped the car at Virginia and Atlantic avenues after they saw traffic and equipment violations at about 11:20 a.m. Friday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.While Evans was talking to the driver, Ameer Hamilton, he could smell marijuana coming from inside vehicle, according to the report.Hamilton and his passenger, Jacqueline Jones, were arrested after the detective found marijuana inside the vehicle, Fair said.During a search of Jones, she was found in possession of a loaded handgun, according to the report.Hamilton, 23, and Jones, 20, were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.Hamilton was also given a motor vehicle summons.The two were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
