Atlantic County now has 75 confirmed cases of
COVID-19, the county announced Friday.The additional 23 positive results came a day after an Egg Harbor Township man was announced as the first death.The positives include 10 men ages 29 to 69. There are also 13 women, ages 31 to 81.Another six residents were listed as recovered, adding to the five previously reported.Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and help reduce the spread of the virus by staying home and practicing safe respiratory and hygiene habits as well as to follow the recommended guidance for social distancing.There is currently no vaccine or treatment for this virus. Those who experience mild or moderate symptoms such as fever, cough, aches and pains, are advised to stay at home, self-isolate and monitor their symptoms. Most recover within two or more weeks.Individuals with more severe symptoms including fever, cough and shortness of breath, and who may have underlying health conditions including heart or lung disease, diabetes or a compromised immune system, should contact their medical provider.
