A Brigantine man is charged with murder in the killing of his wife Saturday.
Police were called to the couple's Girard Place home at 4:27 a.m., and found Rachel Declementi, 30, dead.
She had numerous injuries to her body, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
The cause of death is pending an autopsy scheduled for Monday.
Robert Declementi, 36, is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility charged with murder in his wife's killing.
The couple's Facebook pages seem to tell the story of two people in love.
Robert Declementi's last post, about a week ago, has a photo of the couple that he labeled with the hashtag soulmate. His Facebook page was no longer visible Sunday afternoon.
Rachel Decementi posted video from the couple's engagement in December 2018.
"There's something special about you and something I could never find in another person," he tells her on bended knee before asking her to marry him.
The investigation is being conducted by the Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and Brigantine police.
A detention hearing will likely be held this week.
